Our Life Together

We live in a big sunny apartment in a friendly, family neighborhood on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, and have a bedroom waiting to welcome our child!

We love to have people over, and look forward to our child joining in the fun and laughter around the table with friends and family.  We have a cat named Bongi, who is very affectionate and will curl up with whomever lets him.

Just nearby is a park with a wonderful playground where our child can enjoy the swings and have fun climbing on the hippo statues.  We live right near the Hudson River, where we like to take walks, and have great schools close by.

Sharing our love of travel with our child will be a great pleasure and trips to places near and far will be part of our lives.  Our home is filled with posters, books, CDs and cookbooks from many lands, because we’ve both traveled and lived abroad – Shari in Eastern Europe and Craig in Western Europe and Africa.

Music will be a part of our child’s life from the very start – from lullabies at bedtime, to singing folk songs on long car rides, to going to jazz concerts. We enjoy all kinds of music, and we both sing and play the guitar.

We also look forward to taking our child to Lincoln Center for movies or dance, to discover paintings and sculptures at the Metropolitan Museum and to showing them the dinosaurs at the Museum of Natural History.

Every summer we rent a cottage by a lake in Western Massachusetts where we canoe, bike and hike.  We look forward to our child’s first swim, getting up early with them to see the mist coming off the lake and exploring the woods with them.
